High yield with 2nd blooming

Very easy to pick

Regular, conical fruit

High shelf-life

Sweet and aromatic

Plant: Junebearing variety with high chill requirement, especially suited for tunnel or soil production. Rustic plant, with medium vigour and excellent tolerance to leaf and root diseases.

Pests and diseases: As a member of the CIV strawberry variety range, Klodia has a good natural resistance to powdery mildew and root diseases.

Fruit: The fruits are regular and conical in shape. Bright red in color, shiny, and very even ripening. With the firm fruitskin, this fruit tolerates transport and handling well, and has a good shelf-life. Flavourwise this variety is sweet and slightly aromatic.

Harvest and Yield: Klodia has a very nice, continuous and even harvest, and the fruits are very easy to pick, reducing the picking costs. Furthermore, the variety has a high tendency to develop a large second flowering period, resulting in an excellent production-per-plant during the early strawberry season. The harvest window lies between Clery and Aprica.

The above graphs show the harvest data of the CIV trial tunnel in Cesena, Italy of 2022. Both the new varieties perform equal or better than Clery with regards to production and brix.
